Interwoven Stories of
Healing with Music
Guided by textile artist Diana Weymar, Princeton University Class of 1991, music lovers across the U.S. and Canada embroidered their response to the question “What does Healing with Music mean to you?” as an extension of the Princeton University Concerts (PUC) Healing with Music series of events that sheds light on music’s profound impact.
Commissioned Pieces by Textile Artist Diana Weymar
In addition to this community art project, PUC commissioned pieces stitched by Weymar which capture quotes from PUC audience members, PUC artist insights, and other key voices in the arts that speak to music’s impact in our lives. You can view PUC’s and Weymar’s social media collaboration HERE.
Community Reception and Installation Opening
After an exhibit at the Princeton Public Library in March and April, 2024, works from the Interwoven Stories of Healing with Music community art project traveled to Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts for an exhibit over the Princeton University Reunions and Memorial Day weekend. The exhibit also included works by Weymar which were commissioned by PUC as part of our partnership or in partnership with PUC artist Suleika Jaouad’s The Isolation Journals.
On May 23, 2024, PUC hosted a community reception celebrating the Healing with Music series, the opening of the Interwoven Stories of Healing with Music exhibit at the Lewis Arts Complex on Princeton’s Campus, and the winners of the Impromptu Challenge journaling contest presented in partnership with The Isolation Journals.
