About the Event

CALLING PIANO PLAYERS OF ALL AGES & LEVELS!
Celebrate Princeton University Concerts’ inaugural Pianists in Recital series with a piano extravaganza in historic Richardson Auditorium at Alexander Hall on the Princeton University campus! Throughout the day (10AM-7PM), pianists of all ages and experience levels are invited to take a turn at the keys and play a short work of any genre on the hall’s renowned Steinway grand piano. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming—not a performance, but an opportunity to play in a beautiful setting and share the joy of making music with fellow piano enthusiasts.

In the spirit of our annual Chamber Jam, amateur musicians will have the opportunity to share the spotlight with professional artists. The festivities will be punctuated by appearances from an exciting lineup of professional guest pianists, including Princeton University Concerts artist Gregg Kallor, up-and-coming star Clayton Stephenson, and Princeton University Department of Music performance faculty Margaret Kampmeier and Francine Kay.

Participation is free, but advance registration is required for pianists. Due to limited capacity, player participation will be confirmed by lottery.

Audience members are welcome to drop in throughout the day—no tickets or registration required. Come hear musicians of all ages and levels share their music, or sign up to take the stage yourself!

How to Participate

PIANISTS: Free to participate. Advance registration is required, and due to limited capacity participants will be selected by lottery.

AUDIENCE: Come and go throughout the day as you please. No tickets or registration required.

Ready to play? Please fill out the registration form below to enter the participation lottery. Submitting a registration does not guarantee a spot. Please submit only one registration per participant.
