From one of Mozart’s rare string quartets in a minor key, which reveals an emotional depth that would go on to influence generations of composers, to Ravel’s only String Quartet, a groundbreaking work that broke free from traditional forms, and finally Brahms’ String Quartet Op. 51 No. 2, a masterpiece shaped over nearly eight years of meticulous devotion.
