Faculty and Students of Related Courses
As part of the Department of African American Studies’ co-sponsorship of jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant and her ensemble at Princeton University Concerts on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:30PM in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall, 20 complimentary tickets are available to faculty and students whose studies cover topics related to the performance and McLorin Salvant’s artistic explorations:
Courses Include:
– Memory, History and the Archive with Joshua Guild
– Introduction to Pre-20th Century Black Diaspora Art with Anna Arabindan Kesson
– Postblack – Contemporary African American Art with Chika O. Okeke-Agulu
– Crafting Freedom: Women and Liberation in the Americas (1960s to the present) with Susana Draper
– Topics in French and Francophone Critical Theory: From the Slave Trade to Globalization with Thomas A. Trezise and Patrick Chamoiseau
– MUS Performance courses and ensembles
Students and professors affiliated with these courses are also invited to a brief post-concert conversation with Cécile McLorin Salvant immediately following the concert in the basement-level lounge of Alexander Hall.
